Loren Nancarrow

We are honored to announce that the Master of Ceremonies for San Elijo Lagoon Conservancy’s 2009 Birds of a Feather Gala will be local television celebrity LOREN NANCARROW. Those who have watched his work on 10 News or CBS 8 during the past 30 years are likely aware that Loren’s true passions are nature, gardening and the environment. Loren recently launched his second career and is focusing his energy on those areas where his passions lie.

SELC would like to express our sincerest appreciation to our sponsors and auction item donors. Without the generous support of these organizations and individuals, this wonderful and important fundraiser for our Environmental Education Program could not take place. Thank you.

This year's array of auction items is extensive, so be prepared to take home a few items!

Guests will be treated to a scrumptious, multi-course buffet dinner catered by Ki’s Restaurant. Ki's, an area favorite, is well known for using locally grown and organic ingredients. Since its inception in 1980, Ki's has been owned and operated by the Holcomb family. Their restaurant is located on Highway 101 overlooking the San Elijo Lagoon and the Pacific Ocean.

Beverages include craft brewed beer generously donated by the Stone Brewing Co. Stone Brewing and its World Bistro & Garden are located in our watershed in Escondido. Decanter Wine Lounge & Restaurant, located in the new Cielo Village of Rancho Santa Fe, is providing wine.

Endangered Speciez Project Jazz Ensemble.

Entertainment for Birds of a Feather will be provided by Endangered Speciez Project, featuring Lori Bulat on vocals, Jean Cordier on saxophone and flute, Marvin Free on keyboards and Van Dorn on guitar.

Their sophisticated contemporary jazz sounds will delight attendees throughout the evening.

Richard Houk.

Friend and advisor to non-profit organizations for the last 25 years, Richard is renowned throughout the U.S. for his passionate, high energy, organized and FUN approach to auctions.  The Conservancy is very pleased to have Richard with us.
