San Elijo Conservancy Membership

Many members were first introduced to the lagoon as visitors, unaware of the serenity and wonder the reserve offers.

Whether it was the startling splash of silvery mullet in the lagoon, the stoic stance of an egret, or the rustling of fragrant sages in the breezes, the connection with nature tickles the senses. Members share a passion for the health of our natural environment. You'll be part of a community helping to protect one of San Diego's largest coastal wetlands. Join today!

GUARDIANS OF THE LAGOON
$10,000+ Great Horned Owl
This special category honors those considering a donation of $10,000 or greater to benefit the reserve’s mission-inspired activities. Please call us to discuss becoming a Guardian of the Lagoon, with invitations to exclusive hikes and annual celebrations.

PROTECTORS OF THE LAGOON
$5,000 California Brown Pelican
Your support in protecting the lagoon helps create new nesting sites for the California Least Tern and Western Snowy Plover in one of the rare ecosystems left in Southern California: coastal dunes. The dune strand at San Elijo Lagoon supports several threatened and endangered bird species that have historically relied upon this fragile habitat for breeding.

$2,500 Great Blue Heron

$1,000 Red-tailed Hawk
Support in this level helps us continue our San Elijo Lagoon Stewardship Initiative. Acquiring additional properties that buffer already conserved lands will provide flexibility for plant and animal species that will need to move outside their current ranges in order to adapt to climate change.

$500 White-tailed Kite

$250 Western Scrub Jay
At the $250 level, we outfit you with an exclusive Conservancy tee-shirt, a limited-edition offer. In addition, you’ll receive the benefits of general membership.
