San Elijo Lagoon Conservancy protects and restores the resources of San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve, its watershed, and related ecosystems for the benefit of current and future generations.
Since 1987, the Conservancy has secured additional acreage for protection of rare and endangered animal and plant species. Membership raises necessary funds for development of environmental education, research, and habitat restoration programs. Your support of San Elijo Lagoon Conservancy ensures a legacy in wetlands conservation for the plants, animals, and people that will cherish this reserve for generations. Much like disappearing rain forests and coral reefs, wetlands are one of the most endangered habitats in the world. In Southern California, more than 90% have been lost to population pressures. As one of San Diego's largest wetlands, this special place needs our continued protection.
