Overview:
This bright butterfly can be seen in grassy areas throughout the reserve all year. The yellow-on-black pattern of its wings is a message, expressed in the universal language of color. It means "I taste terrible." The Anise swallowtail's larvae are less flashy, but their very different coloring conveys a similar meaning: they look like bird droppings.
