Overview:

Coyotes are one of North America's great adapters. We think of these crafty members of the dog family as hunters, but they also dine on fruits, berries, insects, and carrion, and whatever they can scavenge from dumpsters. Coyotes have a longer muzzle and a bushier tail than domestic dogs, and pointy, triangular ears. In the evening, listen for their eerie calls: yips followed by a succession of hair-raising howls, and finally short, sharp yaps.
