Overview:
Sometimes, the Snowy Egret looks like it's doing an awkward dance in the lagoon, high-stepping with wings spread. In fact, it's hunting. And this bird knows many hunting tricks. It may stand stock-still and wait for its prey. It may wade slowly through the shallows. It makes bubbles in the water with its bill to attract fish. It gently stirs the mud, first with one foot, and then the other, flushing out hidden crustaceans.
