Overview:
High tide is feeding time for the Striped Mullet. Schools of these flat-headed fish swim up tidal creeks to eat the algae growing on the muddy bottom. Sometimes, they throw their olive and silver bodies into the air, making a big splash as they fall back again. No one knows exactly why they do this, but it may serve to confuse predators.
