Thanksgiving Lagoon Discovery Tour

Celebrate the Season of Gratitude in the Special Thanksgiving Lagoon Discovery Tour

Visitors to San Elijo Lagoon will enjoy festive colors, like the red “holly” berries of the toyon and white flowering coyote brush. San Elijo Lagoon is an important estuary for winged visitors during the Pacific flyway migration, here to rest and refuel during long journeys.

See a variety of shorebirds and ducks. Approximately 40% of North America’s bird species have been observed in this place where ocean meets land. Trailgoers might see mullet, slender silvery fishes, splash from the water. This is life between the tides at one of San Diego’s most diverse coastal wetlands.
